Tails 7.1 has officially arrived as the first minor update in the Tails 7.x series. Built on Debian GNU/Linux, this portable OS protects users against surveillance and censorship. Many privacy-conscious users rely on it for secure computing.
Coming about a month after Tails 7.0, this update brings several improvements. For instance, the Tor Browser now opens an offline home page instead of the online Tails website. Moreover, the Authentication Required dialog can now open apps as root when no password is set on the Welcome Screen.
