Senior Linux engineers design, tune and run Varnish® caching for WordPress, Magento and high-traffic sites, so pages load instantly and your servers stay calm under peak traffic. Fully managed, average response under 8 minutes, 24/7.

L1–L3 engineers on shift around the clock
Running Varnish, NGINX and Linux in production
TechProvidence provides managed Varnish support and cache tuning. Senior Linux engineers write and review VCL, raise cache hit rates, set up safe purging, and monitor Varnish for high-traffic websites and e-commerce stores, with incident response 24/7.
One accountable team owns your caching layer: VCL, hit rate, invalidation, backends and on-call.
Clean, documented VCL for your application: what to cache, for how long, and what must always bypass the cache, written and reviewed by engineers.
Cookie and query-string normalisation, correct Vary and TTLs, storage sizing and thread tuning, so more requests are served straight from memory.
PURGE, BAN and tag-based invalidation wired into Magento, WordPress or your CMS, so new content appears instantly without flushing the whole cache.
Health-checked backends and directors that spread traffic across servers and route around a failed node automatically.
TLS termination in front of Varnish with Hitch or NGINX, or natively where your version supports it, with purge ACLs and request filtering.
Hit ratio, backend errors and evictions watched around the clock, with varnishlog and varnishstat analysis when something looks wrong.
A product launch, a sale or a crawler storm can overwhelm PHP and the database. Correctly tuned, Varnish answers from cache, collapses duplicate requests and, with grace mode, keeps serving the last good copy while your application recovers.
stale-while-revalidate and health probes, tuned to your content
Varnish can serve a page in a fraction of a millisecond, but only if it is allowed to cache it. Most installations we audit run at a low hit rate because of cookies, tracking parameters or an outdated VCL, so traffic still lands on PHP and the database. Others cache too much: stale prices after an update, or a logged-in page shown to the wrong visitor. Our engineers have run Varnish in front of WordPress, Magento and custom applications for hosting providers, agencies and online stores.
We start from varnishstat and varnishlog: hit ratio, miss reasons, evictions and backend errors, so every change targets a real bottleneck.
VCL lives in version control, is compiled before it is loaded, and the previous version stays loaded so rollback takes seconds.
Tuned as your site and traffic change, with one named technical lead and on-call engineers responding in under 8 minutes on average.
Varnish is usually one layer of a bigger stack. We also provide CDN management, NGINX support and performance tuning, Magento hosting, WordPress hosting and clustering, managed AWS services and outsourced sysadmin support. See how we resolved WordPress performance degradation under normal traffic.
We measure hit ratio, miss causes, response headers and backend health, and review your VCL before changing anything.
VCL changes are written in version control with a test plan and a rollback, agreed with you in advance.
New VCL is compiled, loaded alongside the old one and switched live with no restart and no cache flush.
24/7 monitoring, a monthly hit-rate report and continuous tuning as your site and traffic change.
Every engagement is scoped to your environment and backed by a written agreement.
We own your caching layer end to end: Varnish, VCL, TLS, purging, patching and on-call, under a monthly retainer.
We work alongside your in-house team, covering nights, weekends, escalations and specialist VCL work.
Hit-rate audits, VCL rewrites, Magento and WordPress cache rollouts and version upgrades, delivered to a fixed scope.
Expert Varnish support under your brand, for agencies and hosting companies.
A senior engineer reviews your Varnish configuration, hit rate and invalidation. You receive a written report with prioritised recommendations.
We work from a read-only copy of your VCL and statistics, or through a named, logged account you control.
Installation and upgrades, VCL development and review, hit-rate tuning, purging and invalidation, backend health checks and load balancing, TLS termination, plus 24/7 monitoring and incident response.
Usually cookies, tracking parameters such as utm_ and gclid, an over-broad Vary header, or a default VCL that refuses to cache anything with a cookie. We find the exact miss causes in varnishlog and fix them without caching private content.
Yes. The usual causes are backend timeouts, a failing health probe, response headers larger than Varnish allows, or an application that crashes under load. We find the cause in the logs and fix it at the source.
Yes. We configure Varnish as the Magento full-page cache with tag-based purging, and for WordPress and WooCommerce with safe bypass rules for logged-in users, carts and checkout, plus automatic purging when content changes.
Often, yes: NGINX terminates TLS and serves static files, and Varnish caches the dynamic pages behind it. For some sites NGINX caching alone is enough. We recommend the simplest setup that meets your traffic, and also provide NGINX support.
Open-source Varnish has traditionally relied on a TLS proxy such as Hitch or NGINX in front of it, and newer releases add native TLS. We choose the option that fits your version and infrastructure and keep certificates renewed automatically.
In 2026 the open-source Varnish Cache project continued under the name Vinyl Cache, while Varnish Software maintains Varnish Cache and Varnish Enterprise. VCL carries over, but package names, binaries and paths change, so we plan upgrades and migrations with a tested rollback.
Yes. L1–L3 engineers are on shift around the clock, and our average response is under 8 minutes across all tickets. Enterprise contracts can carry a written SLA.
Yes. Hit-rate audits, VCL rewrites, cache rollouts for Magento or WordPress and version upgrades are available as fixed-scope consulting projects, with a written report and handover.
