A catch-all email address is an email account set up to receive all incoming emails sent to any non-existent or incorrectly spelt email addresses within a particular domain. Rather than bouncing back or rejecting these emails, the catch-all address accepts them and stores them in a designated mailbox for further handling or processing. This page explains catch-all accounts and how to add that in cPanel.
If you have a catch-all email address set up for the domain “example.com,” any email sent to non-existent addresses such as “info@example.com,” “contact@example.com,” or even misspelt addresses like “exampel@example.com” will be routed to the catch-all email address.
To add a catch-all or Default Address in cPanel, follow these steps;
Step 1
- Login to the cPanel account.
Step 2
Navigate to the “Email” section. From the “Email” section you can see the “Default Address”
Step 3
- Click on the “Default Address”
Step 4
- Select “Forward to Email Address” and Choose the destination for the forwarded emails. You can select an existing email account or enter a different email address where you want the emails to be forwarded.
Any email sent to a non-existent email address on your domain will be forwarded to the catch-all email address you specified.
Thus we discussed catch-all accounts and how to add that in cPanel.
